Moderate cross-country ski outing on the Calzada Trail (in the Jemez)

Details

Cross-country ski outing along the Calzada Trail. This trailhead is just a mile west of the entrance to the Valles Caldera NP. It is about 4 miles round-trip. This trail climbs about 500 ft. altogether. This trail is rated as a Class II by the New Mexico Cross-Country Ski Club. That is defined as trail that a novice skier that knows how to turn and stop can handle.
Conditions will be somewhat unknown so the trip length and location may change.

As always, the Sierra Club encourages carpooling. The driving distance from our meeting spot at DeVargas Mall is 50 miles one-way, so the suggested driver reimbursement is $7-8/per person.
