ADDITIONAL INFO: THERE IS NO CHARGE TO MEMBERS FOR THIS MEETUP! ALL OF OUR MEETUPS ARE FREE!!! We will play rain or shine, unless it is unsafe. Please RSVP as early as you are able. This also encourages others to attend. We all get busy and our schedules change, but if you have already RSVPd yes to going and later cannot attend, then please change your RSVP to NOT GOING. PLEASE ARRIVE ON THE FIELD AT 11:00 AM SO YOU CAN GET TO KNOW THE OTHER PLAYERS AND WARM UP BEFORE THE GAME. Feel free to message me, Josh Grey, or leave a comment if you have any questions. BASIC RULES OF THE GAME: We play a respectful and fun style of flag football with NO taunting or other aggressive behavior. We are here to have fun and make new friends. This is a recreational non-contact game. You should make every attempt to avoid collisions with the opposing players. We are not professional players getting paid to take injurious hits. Play will start at the 5 yard line. Teams have 4 downs to reach the halfway point; then another 4 downs to reach the end zone. The offense may rush at any time outside of 5 yards from the 1st down or end zone. Men are worth 6 points when scoring a touchdown. To encourage the involvement of women in scoring plays, women receive 6 points plus an automatic 2 point conversion. In addition, female players are guaranteed to receive at least three "targets" plays per game. A target is when a player is the primary receiver or runner during a play. Teams can attempt a 1 or 2 point conversion after a male touch down; 1 point from 5 yards out and 2 points from 10 yards out. The offense can only run ONCE per four downs. The run can be used to avoid a rush, the blitz, or to gain yards -- but it can only be used once. Players can also NOT run within five yards of a first down or touch down. This reduces player contact. The defense may rush after a 4 second digital timer count or a fast 7/1,000 verbal count. The defense may blitz 1 time every 4 downs. MAIN SAFETY RULES: WE PLAY NO CONTACT FLAG FOOTBALL! Both offense and defense can (and should) make foul calls when necessary. All players should respect and not argue over each other’s calls. An organizer will resolve any questions or disputes. 1) NO MOVING BLOCKS: Players may screen block only. This means you are allowed to stand still in place to create an obstacle for the defense so long as the opposing players have time to adjust to your screen. 2) NO OVER THE BACK PLAYS: The space above a player is theirs and theirs alone. You may not leave your feet to come over or through the back of the another player. 3) NO HANDS UP PAST LINE OF SCRIMMAGE: To protect the Quarterback from hand and arm injuries, once a rusher crosses the line of scrimmage, he/she may only go for the QB's flag and may not attempt to bat the football or block the pass. A penalty will be called if a defender raises his hands after crossing the line of scrimmage and any gain by the offense will also be kept. 4) NO CONTACT WITH A DEFENSELESS RECEIVER: player is defenseless until she has caught the ball and has become a "runner." It is a penalty to make contact with a defenseless receiver. This penalty is usually called when a defensive player closes on a receiver from behind too fast and makes contact with with the receiver as the receiver turns to run up the field. BASIC RULES OF THE GAME:

We play a respectful and fun style of flag football with NO taunting or other aggressive behavior. We are here to have fun and make new friends.

Play will start at the 5 yard line.

Teams have 4 downs to reach midfield; then another 4 downs to reach the end zone.

The offense may rush at any time outside of 5 yards from the 1st down or end zone.

Each female on a team must receive at least three opportunities to handle the ball per game.

Men are worth 6 points when scoring a touchdown. To encourage the involvement of women in scoring plays, women are worth 9 points for catching, throwing, or running into the end zone.

Teams can go for 1, 2, or 3 points after a touchdown; 1 point from 5 yards out, 2 points from 10 yards out, and 3 points from 15 yards out.

The defense may rush after a 4 second timer count or a 7-one thousand verbal count. The defense may blitz 1 time every 4 downs

MAJOR SAFETY RULES:

WE PLAY NO CONTACT FLAG FOOTBALL!!! FIRST DOWN PENALTIES WILL BE AWARDED FOR ALL VIOLATIONS OF THE BELOW SAFETY RULES.

1) To protect the Quarterback from hand and arm injuries, rushing and blitzing players must lower their hands before they cross the line of scrimmage. At this point the rusher can still sack the QB, but may not deflect or intercept the ball. This rule only applies to the player(s) rushing the QB.

2) A tackling and/or pass interference call will be made anytime a defender makes significant contact with an offensive player while making a play on the ball.

3) To protect our player's heads and spines, you may not "leave your feet" to go over of through another player's back.

4) We do not allow contact blocking, but players may screen block. This means you are allowed to stand still in place to create an obstacle for the defense.

5) It is a foul if a player initiates contact against a player who is "defenseless." A receiver is considered defenseless is he/she is attempting to catch a pass; or has completed a catch and has not had time to protect him/herself or has not clearly become a runner.

Both offense and defense can make foul calls. All players should respect and not argue over each other’s calls. An organizer will resolve any disputes.

You may review our detailed rules by clicking the “Pages” button.
