About us
Love Latin Dance or want to learn? We have several classes for you and your family and friends. We take it slow and easy. Everyone willing to try will learn bit by bit and get better with time. Always a very friendly, welcoming, and safe environment.
No partner is required and no experience is needed- just a willingness to try. Wear dance shoes, smooth leather soled shoes, or smooth bottom tennis/comfortable shoes- but there is no need to buy special shoes until you are at an intermediate level.
Our Meet-up Group has four primary instructors:
Jonathan- Beginner Salsa, Bachata, Latin Rumba, Cumbia, Beginner Casino
Lionel- Beginner and Intermediate Salsa
Johhny- Intermediate and Performing Team Casino
Mike- Bachata and Performing Team Bachata
Mondays and Wednesdays
Jonathan has been teaching for the City of Santa Clarita, Parks and Recreation for four sessions a year for over 15 years. According to the City, Jonathan has instructed over 10,000 students. While he admits he is not the best dancer in the world, his students think he is an awesome and patient teacher. Jonathan's sessions are comprised of usually 4-6 week consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Lionel teaches salsa in longer a session format (6 weeks) and his classes are a bit more intensive. Lionel's background is in hip-hop, choreography, and specifically salsa. Lionel has taught and had an academy in Asia for many years and is a fitness trainer locally.
Jonathan's courses rotate and may be entitled: Salsa, Bachata Dance, Casino, Cumbia, and Latin Rumba. Classes are from 6:30-7:30 pm or 7:45-8:45 pm, depending on the course and location.
We are indoors on Wednesdays at Santa Clarita Park recreation building adjacent to the parking area (Seco Cyn near Pamplico) on Wednesdays or either at the Canyon Country Activity Center or Valencia Glen Park (near Old Orchard) on Mondays.
Go online to City of Santa Clarita Seasons to register and review the schedules.

Please contact Jonathan at 661 618-1105 for questions and to verify the class schedule if you are going to audit before enrolling.
Youth (14 and over) are permitted if a parent or guardian or a friend is present for the first class (the parent/guardian can sit and watch or take the class as well). No partner is necessary.
Dance Socials
At times on Fridays during Spring and Summer everyone (including non-dancers and friends) is invited for free classes and an opportunity to meet others, and practice those techniques in the courtyard behind the Laemmle Theater, Newhall, at 22500, 91321 (downtown Newall near Lyons and Main Street). Usually, over 100-150 attend this free event. Check the calendar since at time and dates vary.
Casino Performing Team
Intermediate Casino dancers are invited to ask about joining our local performing team. Jonathan and Johnny conduct additional instruction with those interested as our team performs at local and sometimes national/international congresses. This is the best way to get detailed instruction, learn complex and simple patterns, and inspire and contribute to our local community.
