This workshop is all about one essential but often overlooked aspect of acting: choosing the right monologue that fits you best. It’s NOT a performance or camera class. This is a deep dive into selecting monologues and refining your choices.
Whether you're a seasoned actor or just starting, one challenge keeps popping up:
"Is this the right monologue for me?"
This class will help you answer that question by exploring the following:
- How to choose a monologue that aligns with your strengths and style
- Monologues to avoid and those worth pursuing
- The difference between contemporary and classical monologues
- Who your audience is when delivering your monologue
- Where to find compelling monologues
- When and why you might need one in your acting toolkit
- How to analyze a monologue to uncover its emotional "valleys and hills"
What to Bring:
Actors are encouraged to bring at least one monologue. If you’re torn between a few, feel free to bring those as well! If you’re struggling to find one, don’t worry – I’ll have options available during class.

This dynamic 3-hour workshop is designed to help actors, public speakers, and anyone who needs to memorize text efficiently and confidently. Whether it is a script, speech, or presentation, this session will equip you with powerful techniques to enhance your memory skills and bring your text to life.
Students are encouraged to bring a text/script or some written word, of up to 5 minutes in length to work on during the class. If time permits, you may work on 2 or 3 different pieces. Work on them as time permits.
This workshop will help you unlock your memory potential in a safe, supportive environment—whether you're preparing for an upcoming performance or simply looking to improve your skills!
We will cover: Chunking of Text, or as I like to call it, Thought patterns of the script or text you are learning
Visualization and how to see what you are saying
Physical movement and why a simple movement will assist your memory
Bring your scripts/text or material you would like to work on, along with a pen/pencil and paper. Let’s get your memorization techniques down to a workable solution.
