The youth movement - short film and discussion

Details
Short film and discussion - share your thoughts.
We’ll start our discussion by watching 16 year old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg speaking to the Davos conference - "I want you to panic!" You can preview it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjsLm5PCdVQ . Then we'll see Sarasota's own Ella Mirman talking to a reporter at the March 18 protest: https://www.mysuncoast.com/video/2019/03/18/suncoast-students-protest-better-climate-change-policies/ .
Youth activism didn't begin just now. In 2009, nine year old Felix Finkbeiner founded Plant for the Planet, and within three years his group had planted a million trees in Germany. In 2015, 21 young people filed a lawsuit against the federal government, claiming a constitutional right to a livable planet. Their case has reached the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Why have you heard of Greta Thunberg, but you never heard of Felix Finkbeiner or Juliana vs United States? Has something changed?
Will the youth movement make a difference?
Is there anything we can do to help or support them?
Can something that works in Sweden work in Sarasota?
The Swedish parliament just announced a new budget with a substantial increase in spending on climate and environment. Does that qualify as success?
