Announcing a new Meetup for Sarasota Permaculture Community!

What: No Impact Man - Film Screening

When: Tuesday, September 14,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota
3975 Fruitville Rd Sarasota
Sarasota, FL 34232
[masked]

Colin Beavan decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for the next year. It means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator. It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage. No problem ? at least for Colin ? but when his espresso-guzzling, retail- worshipping wife Michelle and their two-year-old daughter are dragged into the fray, the No Impact Project has an unforeseen impact of its own.

After the film, you will have a chance to volunteer to participate in The No Impact Experiment, a one-week carbon cleanse during which you will reduce consumption, eliminate waste, use alternative transportation methods, eat locally, help out a non-profit organization, and take an "eco-sabbath."

Admission will be $5 at the door. Presented by WSLR 96.5 Community Radio, the Peace Education and Action Center, and Transition Sarasota.
