• Network Programming with the Go Programming Language

Suncoast Science Center Faulhaber Fab Lab

This months presentation will be "Network Programming with the Go Programming Language" by Vladimir Vivien Topic Description: Go has quickly gained popularity in the last few years due to its simplicity, efficiency, ease of use, and concurrency constructs. It has one of the most complete and well-implemented standard libraries. The net package, part of the Go standard library, comes with everything needed to allow developers to create robust client and server programs using communication primitives for sockets protocols protocols. In this session, speaker Vladimir Vivien provides introductory coverage of the net package starting with high-level view of available primitives for network programming. The session then shows how to create working networking programs using protocols such as UDP and TCP including examples of both client and server programs. Speaker Bio: Vladimir Vivien has an extensive career as a software engineer. He currently works at VMware in the Cloud Native Application group where he is passionate about contributing upstream to the Kubernetes open source project. Vladimir also enjoys writing blogs on technology and he has recently published his latest book titled "Learn Go Programming". This event will take place on Thursday July 25, 2019.
