Hello all.
Many of you have been asking about what we are planning, or whether or not the meetups will continue moving forward. I wanted to get some feedback from the group itself before making any final decisions.
I have some ideas for how the group evolves into more of a general web focused meetup as opposed to being strictly about WordPress. I think that would open the potential of the group up to a larger audience, and keep my interest peaked as an organizer/host.
Many of you have heard me talk about my growing love for Webflow, and I am currently moving much of my web work to their platform. The power it gives users from a front end design standpoint is exactly what I have been looking for since I started my career in web design and it is creating a conflict for my time and effort when it comes to focusing on a strictly WordPress focused meetup.
That being said, I want to be fair to the community we've built over the last couple years.
In my mind, this leaves us with two options.
1: We can shift the focus to more of a general web design/development group and keep growing, learning, and evolving together...
or
2: I can hand over the local WordPress meetup to an interested party, and start organizing a seperate, more general, web based meetup moving forward.
I am open to whatever outcome we decide as a group. I look forward to seeing you all, getting your thoughts, and starting the next chapter of whatever this becomes.
Regards,
Raymmar Tirado
See you all at Bold Cowork on the 17th. We'll meet in the studio on the 3rd floor.
P.s. Please note that I still love WordPress, I just also love Webflow and would love to find a way to build value as it relates to helping people reach their online goals regardless of their platform of choice.
