Monrovia Canyon Park and waterfalls

Hello fellow hikers, we are going to do this beautiful shaded hike that ends at a waterfall. I am pretty sure that there will be a nice creek flowing trough the forest and the waterfall should be a beautiful site. This is a great hike for beginners. It will take us around 2 - 2 1/2 hours to complete.

Distance:

• Parking Entrance: 1.7 (one way)

• Dogs allowed with leash

The elevation gain is 350 feet. It's just a really nice, easy hike alongside a babbling brook that leads you up to a really nice 30-foot waterfall. There are several places that you can find to rest along the way, nearly the entire hike is shady and has beautiful views. Definitely, a place to go regularly to escape the hustle bustle of Hollywood and its surrounding metropolitan areas.

We highly recommend car-pooling for those not living close to the park. There is the Park & Ride in the corner of Wilson and Harvey in Glendale where we can meet if anyone wants to car-pool. We should meet there b4 7:00am so we can leave right at 7am. So please let me know if this is an option you want to take.

There's a $6 parking fee for each car if you decide to park in their parking lot. There's a small parking lot next to the park entrance but it is always full even that early. Please park at the bottom of the street and it will take you about 7 to 10 minutes walking to get to the trailhead, so do plan for this extra time. You can take this as a warm up to our stretches. Please let's all try to be there a few minutes before 7:30 am so we can stretch and start the hike soon after.

If you'd like, please bring a healthy snack to share and we'll have a "picnic" at the waterfall.
