What we're about
We are an active club that paddles whitewater and flat water in canoes, kayaks and sea kayaks. Given our unique location and access to the Interstate roadways, we travel near and far in pursuit of our ultimate paddling adventure. The club's trips can be as close as the Mississippi River, or, as far away as North Carolina, Colorado, Florida, and Minnesota, and places in between. We stress safety and learning new skills in paddling, and some trips may require specialized skills…we strive to let members know when special skills and/or equipment are required. Generally we are active paddlers rather than floaters.
This "Meetup Group" is used by members of the Saukenuk Paddlers Canoe & kayak Club to schedule events and share information. Dues are $9 per year, dues cover the costs of this Meetup Site, the building we hold our monthly meeting, club activities, and provide financial support to local paddle related activities. There is no additional charges to participate in club activities. Dues cover up to two adults per household and their minor children.
Saukenuk membership is for 1 year, beginning January 1 each year. Dues paid after September each year are considered good for the following year. A new membership application is required every year and will be emailed to existing members sometime near years end. Prospective new members may obtain a membership application by request to firstname.lastname@example.org , or by attending a club meeting. Club meetings are held the last Wednesday of every month except Nov and Dec, in the Red Cross Building in Moline, IL at 7 pm. Dues payment options are on the Membership Application.
Saukenuk sends to members a (nearly) monthly newsletter with information of interest to club members. Included is a calendar with future trips that will require advanced planning, events that may be of interest to paddlers, and other information that may be useful in planning future events.
