This group is for anyone interested in enjoying the great outdoors by hiking, camping, cycling, kayaking, participating in community events such as park/river cleanups or tree maintenance projects, or just taking a walk in the park.I am looking forward to meeting some local folks who share my love of the outdoors. Hope to see you on the trails!
"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, seek the path less traveled, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this." Henry David Thoreau
My favorite kayak spot in the world. A crystal clear, wild river running through a jungle full of wild monkeys, gators, manatee, anhinga, great blue heron, and more.
I have reserved site 44. There werd 5 or 6 sites left. Reserve quickly at floridastateparks.reserveamerica.com (search Silver Springs State Park).
We will paddle Tues at noon from Ray Wayside Park ($5). We will go against the current for 5 miles to the head springs, then float back. You are also free go one way from the headsprings and arrange for the park shuttle. I will get a Tues trip headcount as we get closer.
The only number restriction is based on your ability to get a campsite.
