Deconstructing Dotty, Felix Mulder

Dotty is a next generation compiler aimed at trying new language concepts and compiler technologies for Scala. In this talk I aim to explore the future of Scala from a compiler engineer's perspective. I will explore the compiler pipeline, type inferencing, library rewrite rules and compiler optimizations as well as giving an overall view of the differences between Scala and the Dotty version of Scala.

Felix Mulder is a member of Martin Odersky's Dotty team at EPFL in Lausanne

    Hi,

Its important that you don't show up before 18.30 for this meetup. Jfokus session ends at 18.00 and attendees need to exit the rooms and leave to avoid "strul". If you come earlier, the hotel have a bar in the reception for a "after-work-beer" while waiting.

You should enter the venue in the "canyon" between the hotel and the Waterfront Congress Centre. Walk directly down to the rooms at level 2. There will be coat-hangers in the rooms instead of using the Waterfront cloakroom.

    Welcome,
    Mattias Karlsson, Jfokus
