Quantum Futures Workshop

Details
A micro workshop exploring the basics and future implications of Quantum Computing in our world. Quantum computing is an emerging technology that will have dramatic implications for industry and society in the future.
In this workshop, you’ll get up to speed on the latest technical developments in quantum computing and participate in a speculative design exercise to explore the value and implications of this new technology in the future. Matthew Neeley, a PhD in Quantum Physics, and Head of Software at Google's Quantum AI program will give an evening lecture to kick off the course, and feedback on the final ideas. Matthew was part of the Google team that just last year demonstrated Quantum supremacy, he will be our guide in the the mind bending affordances of potential quantum technologies.
The workshop will consist of an evening lecture, project brief and a-sync feedback across the week and a group exploration and idea share to close the week.
Participants will leave with a new understanding of quantum computing and its implications for futures, experience working with speculative design frameworks and a summary document with tools, lecture notes and our conversations captured.
