What we're about

Join us for monthly discussions of Science Fiction/Fantasy/Speculative Fiction books with a particular focus on what these works of fiction have to say about our own society. Anyone and everyone with an appreciation for these worlds (and an opinion to share) is welcome!

Take a Look at the Five and Ten

The Phinney Center

For December we'll read a Christmas-themed novella by Connie Willis, Take A Look at the Five and Ten.

Unfortunately, there appear to be very few library copies available, so plan accordingly.

This will be an in-person event held at the Phinney Center in Greenwood, north Seattle, in the Blue Building (on Phinney and 67th), Room 5 on the third floor. Free parking is available in the lot next to the building (upper lot recommended), or accessible via the 5 bus.

Please only come if you are vaccinated, wear masks inside the building, and stay home if you are feeling sick or were recently exposed to covid.

Note that we will be meeting the third rather than fourth Thursday in December to avoid Christmas week.

Roadside Picnic

For January we'll read Roadside Picnic by Soviet-Russian authors Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.
