What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in the intersection between science, technology, and politics. In a technological society like ours, one does not have to dig very deep into any political issue to discover that an informed position requires knowing the underlying science to at least some degree. Whether you are discussing climate change, energy, feeding the world, migrations, or the rise of AI, you need to be properly grounded in the science to have a meaningful conversation or to make the choices that will actually have a positive impact.

The format for our meetings is that of a casual conversation around a given topic. Though the topic is there to ground the conversation, it should not be interpreted as a straitjacket. The only rule I will enforce is making sure the conversation is always polite and friendly, even if people vehemently disagree on a subject.
