Scottish Country dance (SCD) is a lively form of social dance that involves groups of couples of dancers tracing progressive patterns according to a predetermined choreography (figures). SCD is sometimes mistaken for a type of folk dancing, but it is actually the ballroom dance form of Scotland.
Scottish Country Dance of Colorado Springs meets Wednesday evenings at the International Dance Club starting at 7pm. Beginners of all ages are welcome and no partner is needed to come dance at the classes. Join us for one of the weekly classes. Step work and figures will be taught before each dance. We also participate in a periodic regional dance with other dancers along the Front Range.
