What we're about

Scottish Country Dancing is the social dancing of Scotland but is now danced around the world. The music is lively and adds to the exhilaration of the dance. Dances are done in groups (or sets) of 6 or 8 dancers and you don't need to bring your own partner to participate. No special clothes are required except soft soled shoes. The regular dance season is September to early May. Weekly classes are offered from basic to advanced level as well as monthly and annual social events.
Come to a class, or drop by one of our socials to watch the fun! The best time to start is in September but new dancers are welcome to join at anytime. You don't need to be Scottish to recognize Scottish Country Dancing is good value for your money, good for your health, and great for making new friends.

There are two major Scottish Country Dance groups in Ottawa. They are the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (Ottawa Branch) and the Ardbrae Scottish Country Dancers of Ottawa. For more information go to www.rscdsottawa.ca or www.ardbrae.org
