What we're about

"I did not know how much I needed this chair yoga class until I did it," said a new yoga student with knee pain. Chair yoga includes postures sitting in a chair and standing, breathing exercises and meditation. Designed for people over 60 and those with medical conditions, this class will make a difference in how you feel physically, emotionally and mentally. One student told a friend, "We have so much fun." Students report statistically significant improvement in their posture, strength, flexibility, balance, and breathing plus reduction in their pain. Yoga has been scientifically proven to help more than 101 health conditions and NIH is spending millions of dollars to continue the research. We laugh and have fun too. Join us!

The Scottsdale Chair Yoga for Seniors and Health Conditions is done both sitting on a chair and standing near it. You will learn proper posture, healing breathing, and end the class with meditation. You will strengthen your body, stretch your muscles, increase range of motion, improve your balance, and feel better about yourself. Additionally, we laugh, maybe sing a song, get some healthy living tips, and socialize with like-minded people.

Discounts are given for 5-and 10-class packages. Visit www.AgeWithoutLimits.net/classes for more information.

Usually, I attend yoga classes and experience struggles with being able to do the poses and hold them. Often times, my body hurts as I’m maneuvering from one pose to the next, which is counterproductive to the concept of yoga, right? That is until I found Janet’s class.
Janet Rae Humphrey’s yoga techniques are different. She teaches with a calm and almost meditative voice and breaks down each position to clearly have the students mastering moves without pain.

She understands the body so well and guides her pupils of all ages (some in the 80’s and 90’s) to build core muscles as well as gain great flexibility. Finally, a yoga class that truly is good for the body, mind and spirit. Janet Rae Humphrey is awesome! M.V. – age 57

The stretching and the movements have made me more aware of my breath and body. I feel so much better since I have started the yoga class. Janet is such an excellent experienced teacher. My hips are so much better which was mainly the problem that brought me to yoga to begin with. Thank you, Janet, for all you do for us. M. S. – age 72

Recently I was in the hospital and was told to stay in bed on my back for a week. I heard Janet’s voice, “You can do yoga anywhere.” So, I did my leg raises, worked my arms, hands, etc. After a week I sat up, stood up and walked with a walker. The staff could not believe it! A nurse said, “Oh, she’s been doing that yoga stuff all day long.” Yoga works!! H. S. – age 89
