"Physical inactivity is the strongest predictor of unsuccessful aging," according to University of Florida research on aging. The National Institute of Health is spending millions of dollars on yoga research, which is highlighting the healing benefits of yoga's postures, breathing and meditation. Harvard neuroscientists show that meditation not only reduces stress, but it changes your brain. Boston University studies illustrate improved levels of the "feel good" hormones in your brain when you do yoga. The Scottsdale Chair Yoga for Seniors and Health Conditions is done both sitting on a chair and standing near it. You will learn proper posture, healing breathing, and end the class with meditation. You will strengthen your body, stretch your muscles, increase range of motion, improve your balance, and feel better about yourself. Additionally, we laugh, maybe sing a song, get some healthy living tips, and socialize with like-minded people.

What we're about

"I did not know how much I needed this chair yoga class until I did it," said a new yoga student with knee pain. Chair yoga includes postures sitting in a chair and standing, breathing exercises and meditation. Designed for people over 60 and those with medical conditions, this class will make a difference in how you feel physically, emotionally and mentally. One student told a friend, "We have so much fun." Students report statistically significant improvement in their posture, strength, flexibility, balance, and breathing plus reduction in their pain. Yoga has been scientifically proven to help more than 101 health conditions and NIH is spending millions of dollars to continue the research. We laugh and have fun too. Join us!
