The Scottsdale Desert Scribes Writers Group meets Tuesday evenings to discuss our works of fiction. We are focused on exchanging feedback with the goal of helping each writer move their project to completion. Writing and storytelling are our passion, and we strive to make helping each other with our stories lively and fun.
We are focused primarily on fictional works, including novels, short stories, feature film screenplays, teleplays, stage plays, loglines and pitches. Our critiques are aimed at helping writers move toward a specific goal, with a view toward having their work published, sold, or otherwise picked up professionally. We're looking for writers at an intermediate to advanced level, with clear professional goals for their work.
Generally, we do not discuss nonfiction works such as memoirs, diaries/journals, or blogs. However, if a nonfiction project has a clearly defined purpose and goal, or a narrative-driven structure, exceptions may be made on a case by case basis with the approval of the group.
We love talking about stories and doing a deep dive into every creative journey! If you think our group is for you, please drop us a line and tell us about yourself.
