Outdoor Adventure in PA's French Creek State Park

Live like a Scout again! For our September Meetup, meet & join fellow former Scouts for some fun, fellowship & adventure in gorgeous French Creek State Park - one of the jewels of PA's State Parks. Come when you can - stay as long as you like!

We'll be gathering in the late afternoon on Friday to set up camp for 2 nights, then departing on Sunday afternoon. Take advantage of hiking, biking, boating, fishing, camping, wildlife and nature's beauty - it's adventure in the great outdoors! Come join us - bring the family & make some new friends, enjoy the park, get dirty & have some outdoor fun like only Scouting Alumni know how!

Bring as much of your own rugged clothing & outdoor gear, tick/mosquito repellent & sunscreen, and food as possible. We'll be putting together a full gear list soon, and we can always share so that we all have what we need. Point is - don't let your lack of gear keep you from joining in!

And don't worry - we'll have restrooms, fresh water and shower facilities on site. We can even work out carpooling - let us know what we can do to help YOU be there!

French Creek State Park is an oasis for people and wildlife, comprised of forests, lakes, wetlands, and fields. Straddling the Schuylkill Highlands, the 7,730-acre park is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City.

The park's habitats are homes to many animals and plants that are rare in the Commonwealth. French Creek State Park is an Important Bird Area as designated by the National Audubon Society, and an Important Mammal Area as designated by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Pine Swamp is a State Park Natural Area.

So come ready to meet your fellow Scouting Alumni Meetup members and make some new friends. This will be our biggest outing yet, and we'd love to keep building a fun & vibrant group that's committed to outdoor adventure, community service, and friendship & fellowship.
