We're kicking off the SeaTech4Good autumn with a fast and fun Speed Geek session!

Speed Geeking is a great way to quickly view a bunch of presentations and demos in just an evening. Never Speed Geeked before? It's simple: we split into groups and spend around 5 minutes at each presenter as we go around the room. The 5 minute limit keeps presentations short and engaging, and leaves plenty of time for Q&A!

Presenters/Demos:

* Nam-ho Park, Forum One: Website for Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture
Forum One partnered with the Smithsonian Institution to welcome online visitors to the new National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), which opened in fall 2016 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. As the newest museum in the Smithsonian family, the NMAAHC wanted its website to stand out with a bold visual presence befitting its physical architecture - one that goes beyond simply providing visitor information to convey a powerful and immersive virtual experience.

* Mark Root-Wiley, MRW Web Design: Website accessibility tools
Using tota11y as an example, a demo of how to use an accessibility testing tool when building a website.

* Tyler Swayne, Tribuo LLC: A newly launched website, Tribuo.
Tribuo gives charity fundraisers tools to manage their fundraising efforts and collect donations at a much lower cost than current offerings. We've spent the last few months building the site and are now ready to show it off.

* Lucinda Stroud, 501 Commons: Employee onboarding checklist using Atlassian's Confluence software
Bringing a new employee onboard is always a test of an organization's capacity to wrangle details big and small, and shared between many staff members. By leveraging Atlassian's Confluence software, 501 Commons created a template for an onboarding checklist that clarifies responsibility, tracks task completion, and integrates needed instructions and documents -- all to ensure a comprehensive and consistent onboarding experience for new employees. We'll demonstrate creating and customizing an onboarding checklist, as well as show how such a checklist can be the backbone in designing a staff intranet.

* Jeanne Cost, Fuse IQ: Healthier Washington Initiative website with Drupal 8 content management system
Demo of a modular solution using the Drupal 8 content management system, as built for the Healthier Washington Initiative (managed by the Washington State Department of Health). Key discussion about collaborating with stakeholders and a working group to test ideas and come to consensus on deliverables and releases.

* Tim Ganter, Studio Ten Four: Seattle Neighborhood Greenways web app leveraging open data
A demo of the web app built in collaboration with Seattle Neighborhood Greenways -- the tech, the story behind it, and working with open data with data.seattle.gov.

* Aaron Brackney, Washington Trail Association. WTA's volunteer management system
A demo of the customized volunteer management system WTA created in collaboration with Percolator Consulting.

*Atlas Workbase is right across from the Gates Foundation. Their spaces range from communal "cafe" style to private offices. What we like the most is the stunning modern Steelcase furniture (https://www.steelcase.com/) and the FREE PARKING (under QFC in the garage).
