Give & Take: Handcrafted Items & Preserved Foods, in time for the Holidays!

Forget holiday shopping, let's get holiday swapping!! We'll focus on swapping our own hand-crafted goods such as preserved foods, candles, soaps, herbal preparations, crocheted or knitted items, clothing you have sewn, jewelry, woodworking projects, quilts (although these are large items and you would want to be sure you got a fair trade) or anything else that you make yourself at home and might want to trade for something new and different.

For example, if you just made a large batch of soap and have more than you will use you could bring that to the swap.

We also want to include extra or unused items like supplies, books and/or equipment used to make these hand crafts. For example, if you used to quilt but don't have time anymore or have moved on to another hand craft you could bring any supplies, like fabric, books or cutting tools, that you still have and would like to swap for something else. These items could also include wool, yarn, soap or candle making supplies, tools, knitting or crocheting needles, or beads.

Food from your root cellar, greenhouse, or preserved would also be awesome!

The event is free and open to all, though donations to the Meetup group will be gratefully accepted.

Please be on time so you won't miss the introductions when everyone will explain what they have brought. This is an important part of the process so that we all know what is available and can figure out what we would like to swap. No one goes home empty handed and everyone usually leaves with more than they came with, through some sort of swapping magic! The process takes about 90 minutes depending on the number of participants.
