Seed Packing Party with The Piscataqua Seed Project

Details

Come lend a hand anytime between 1:30 and 4pm! We'll have all our seed cleaned and ready for 2020 so it is time to package it up for distribution to local garden lovers.

Join us for an afternoon of learning, working together and community as we prepare our seed. We will also talk about how to grow and save the different varieties we are offering.

The Piscataqua Seed Project is a community-based organization whose mission is to empower people to grow food locally and save heirloom seeds for future generations. We encourage the sharing of skills and knowledge and believe that a healthy food system is critical for creating resilient communities and connecting us to our cultural heritage. PSP is a project of Slow Food Seacoast, Seacoast Permaculture and Strawbery Banke.

Our goal is to increase the availability of heirloom seed for families, schools and other groups who wish to grow plants in their own gardens. Our focus is on locally adapted and regionally significant foods that grow well in our climate. We distribute seed at local events throughout the Seacoast and offer workshops on growing and saving seed.

COST: Donations to The Piscataqua Seed Project will be gratefully accepted at the door.

You are welcome to BYO lunch or snack.
