Let's Toastmaster!

This workshop will provide an example of a typical night that we have every two weeks at the Florin bar in Utrecht.

Note that this workshop is held in English and only one round will be provided during the Monday meetup event (from 6.15 to 7.15). Usually, a regular evening at Toast Master lasts 2 hours.

Who are we and what do we do?

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 352,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,400 clubs in 141 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.
U-Speak! Toastmasters is one of the English spoken clubs in Utrecht.
Our mission is to provide a supportive, fun and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth, as well as improving their self-esteem in using the English language.

To provide this learning experience Toastmasters International uses two tracks – the communication track and the leadership track.
Firstly, the communication track uses a basic manual with 10
assignments regarding specific objectives – such as using body language, vocal variety or how to structure a speech – and secondly advanced manuals going into depth regarding certain themes (entertaining speeches, speeches for management, etc.).
The leadership track covers certain roles for the meetings, as well as roles for the club contests and the clubs board.

At each evening, an Agenda is set with the different roles and tasks. The general idea is to have speakers, evaluators (a very important part of Toastmasters!) and table topic speakers (impromptu speeches).

For this night at the Monday Meetup, we will provide a shorter regular evening with a precise agenda of the activities that you will receive before the session starts.
