Mark Porter will talk about Amazon’s newest addition to its database technology, Amazon Aurora with PostgreSQL compatibility. Aurora PostgreSQL combines a self healing cloud native storage system with the world’s most popular (and most Oracle-compatible) open source database. By doing so,AWS is rethinking how databases should work, and how to offer performance, durability, and scalability that databases have never had before. Aurora (PostgreSQL) is managed by Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) – a managed database service that automates tedious administrative tasks and can manage the largest fleets of managed databases in any cloud. The talk will be casual with plenty of opportunities for questions and discussions.
