Borges and the Labyrinth: The Aleph
Details
We're discussing the short story collection "The Aleph" (1949) by Jorge Luis Borges. We'll start this discussion with "A Biography of Tadeo Isidoro Cruz (1829-1874)" and cover as many stories as possible in sequence as they appear in the collection. Any stories we don't cover will be discussed during our next session.

Borges and The Labyrinth
Seminar Description:
This is an ongoing seminar dedicated to discussing the works of Jorge Luis Borges (1899 - 1986). Some participants are reading through Borges' canon of works that have been translated into English; it’s equally possible to drop in and out of sessions for particular anthologies, stories, or books, as one's time or interests dictate.
Borges spent his career as a writer imagining labyrinths and paradoxes that recast the nature of reality. In this seminar, we’ll engage his works in rough chronological order as we attempt to escape those labyrinths and resolve those paradoxes. What did Borges mean? Who was he? Why did he write what he wrote?
This seminar will read and discuss the works listed below.
