Writing a gust profile best practices
Details
When a startup seeks outside funds, they will end up working with some type of platform to be discovered. There are many different platforms and more all the time. Whether you are engaging with Angel List, F6S, Proseeder or Gust, the quality of the materials put on the platform impact your engagement with investors.
For the Seattle Angel Conference, we use the gust.com platform. The beginning part of the Angel Conference is to have all of the Investors review the profiles on gust.com. We typically have 60 or so companies to review. They have a week to review the companies and provide comments so that the other investors can understand their thoughts.
What you write in your gust.com profile is the first criteria for the Angel Conference. This ends up being true for most Angel Networks as well. The quality of the profile on the platform often effects which companies get invited into the screening committee for review.
Andrew Beavers will address the question of how to write a useful and compelling Gust profile.
