Well it's been a while hasn't it? We thought we had better dust this thing off, as 2017 was a heckin year for Apple admins, and 2018 promises to rain even more chaos and destruction on deployment workflows that have been relatively stable and predictable for most of the existence macOS (neé Mac OS X, neé OS X). We'll be doing our best to re-establish our "third Thursday" monthly schedule, with some specially-scheduled events likely as well.
Special thanks to Mike Woody and Splunk for hosting us again.
Given that it's our first meetup of the year, we have a bit of a pot pourri of items.
• We'll review the schedule of events and conferences for the year that are of interest to Apple Admins. Gretchen Kuwahara of Penn State University will be on hand to discuss the 2018 MacAdmins Conference at Penn State. Bring your conference talk ideas for this conversation.
• We'll discuss some of the major events and announcements that we've seen our favorite vendor make, with a focus on implications of the iMac Pro.
• We'll work on planning additional meetups for 2018, including a March meetup at the offices of DropBox, another meetup to remount of last year's conference talk preview workshop, and expansion of meetups to the Eastside so that we can better include the Apple Admins there.
Our organizers are Joe Chilcote (@chilcote on Slack/Twitter), Chris Dawe (@ctdawe on Slack/Twitter), Mac Justice (@macjustice on Slack/Twitter), and Gil Wilson (@boyonwheels on Slack). We're happy to answer questions or address concerns.
We hope to see you at Splunk!
