Introduction

I love the freedom I get from running and the comradery that comes from running with others. I had no idea where running would take me and am beginning to realize that the best is yet to come!

How long have you been running and do you have any bucket list goals you are motivated to accomplish?

I've been running for around 8.5 years. I am not sure if I have a bucket list of races, but do enjoy learning about cool races with a bit of history to them and then targeting them.

How did your 2018 go as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

2016 was an interesting year of running. In a sense it was a bit of a reset in that I stumbled into the year pretty over-trained and changed my emphasis to try and get healthy again. As far as highlights I enjoyed sharing many runs with friends, paced a few races, the Ragnar team I am on took 2nd place overall and ran the NYC marathon which was a very neat experience.

Do you have any running goals for this year? Any races on the calendar for you?

My plan for 2017 is to take better care of my body. 8 years of pounding my body appears to be taking its toll and I would like to get back to running feeling good again. Putting an emphasis on sleep, training smarter not harder, putting better ingredients into my body and making more of an effort to get to know my running friends. Races on my calendar at this point is the LSH this spring (training race), the Boston Marathon in April, Ragnar Relay NWP (#GreenStreaks!), possibly an ultra in August and the rest is TBD...Big goals would be to become a stronger runner, increase my fitness/stamina and make strides toward having fun!

What’s the best way to get you to show up for one of our group runs?

I typically run 3-4 days per week, but when I am training for a marathon that sneaks up to 5ish. I am an early bird, but do enjoy running at other times of the day as well. There aren't a whole lot of conflicts that come up for me at 5:30am, so I try and run early. The rest of the day always seems to gets in the way.

We’d like nothing more than to have you joining us for runs. How can we best support you in helping you get the most out of running?

Keep providing me with folks to run with, make sure I am making sleep a priority, encourage me to be a positive and encouraging person and making strides toward being a better runner and growing as a person.
