Startup Weekend, EuroSeattle

*** To participate, you MUST register at http://euroseattle.startupweekend.org/.

The first Seattle Startup Weekend of 2014 is scheduled. It has a special theme called EuroSeattle. The idea is to get European ex-pats to participate in the local startup community here in Seattle. The idea came from a few Startup Weekend fans who are European ex-pats themselves. They found it challenging to make friends here, but felt welcomed by our startup community and want to give that experience to others while having all the typical fun and competition of a Startup Weekend hackathon.

Anyone interested in meeting up beforehand to see if we have some common interests, which would allow us to get ahead start on the logistics and tech?

Thanks for messaging Aeden! Hope we'll see more pre-event collaboration in the future. If people have ideas about how we can leverage our group to support making this kind of thing happen (e.g. scheduling a pre-event or something), let me know.

Is this exclusively for european expats?

I don't think so. When you register, it asks if you are European or not. I said "no" and still registered.

That's correct. The idea is really about providing a welcoming environment for expats to get involved in the startup community. No restrictions on who can attend as far as I know.
