What we're about
The Hash House Harriers (HHH or H3) are an international drinking club with a running problem. We have chapters on all 7 continents, and encourage non-competitive running and social clubs across the world.
The objectives of the Hash House Harriers are:
-To promote physical fitness among our members
-To get rid of weekend hangovers
-To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer
-To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel
The Pacific Northwest is home to many H3 chapters (or kennels, as they are known), including Seattle, Rain City (King County area), SeaMon, No Balls (women only), Puget Sound (men only), wGASH, Full Moon, BASH (bikers), HS!WTF? (Bremerton), Tacoma, South Sound, Lacey, and Bellinghamsters. Each kennel holds regular events where the hares lead a trail in flour or chalk and the hounds (rest of the pack) has to find the trail, which leads to beer or other drinks.
Hashes in the Seattle area are generally designed for people aged 21+ and are not family friendly unless otherwise specified. The details of the trails vary depending on the kennel, the hare, and the day but always include some distance between .1 to 15 km and some kind of alcohol. Hashers are generally willing to have fun with a little bit of debauchery thrown in. After we finish trails, we stand in a circle to make fun of who did stupid things that day and sing them dirty songs.
If this sounds like you, we welcome virgins, new hashers, and visitors to any events that are posted. You can also see our website at www.wh3.org for more information.
