This group is for Hungarians and anyone interested in Hungary or the Hungarian Culture. We can use this page to plan Hungarian language chats and outings, and to communicate about local resources and events.
This picnic shelter at Bellevue's Crossroads Park will be decked out in red, white and green this Saturday for the Hungarian American Association of Washington's commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the 1956 October 23rd revolution in Hungary. The program from 12-1 includes a short presentation by János Szablya, Jr., who escaped with his parents as a child in the aftermath of the uprising. Participants of the Hungarian school and Fekete István Scout Troop will read poems and help the audience understand this historic event in two languages. There will be time after 1pm to socialize and enjoy some light snacks. Masks are mandatory and we aim to keep social distancing as well for safety at this outdoor event.
