We are a community of parkour, freerunning, tricking, and movnat practitioners in Seattle!
We believe the human body was meant to move! True health and fitness is having the ability to move well, with strength, complexity, and creativity--running, jumping, swinging, crawling, climbing. We use parkour and natural movement to help you reclaim your body & rediscover just how fun movement and fitness can be!
We teach you how to make the city your gym. Treadmills and weigh-machines aren't the solution to a sedentary lifestyle: you have to be able to use your body in any environment you are in, not just the gym. We take our classes outside, into the city and nature, and use everything from benches and curbs to trees and rocks to help us in building strength, mobility, and a movement practice for life
Follow Your Path with us. Whether you are barely able to do a push up or a seasoned and strong athlete, our community will meet you where you are (point a) and work with you to achieve your goals (point b). And, while our classes will push and challenge you, they are also progressive and safe. We believe in working with your body, not against it!
Parkour, and our community, is for everyone, regardless of shape, size, and fitness level. When practiced correctly and consistently, it not only is safe but teaches one how to assess risk, cope with uncertainty, and think creatively.
So what are you waiting for? Ditch the gym and get outdoors.
Our primary instructors collaborate with Parkour Visions, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit that focuses on providing people of all abilities access to the physical, emotional, and social benefits of parkour and life-long fitness.
This month we'll start in Volunteer Park by the big cedars at (https://email@example.com,-122.3160095,17z) and maybe head over to the playground later. The wet weather backup location for this event is gasworks park. Please check the event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/876491569384193/ for updates and more info!
The first 45 minutes will be an introduction to parkour. We’ll warm up together, cover some fundamental techniques, and explore movement together. After the intro, there will be a jam for as long as people wanna stick around (less structured, just people coming together to play and challenge each other). We encourage everyone to come to this part - newbies to practice, play, and meet the community, and current practitioners to support and inspire. :D
