This month: Dustin Carlino will present on A/B Street. A/B Street (https://github.com/dabreegster/abstreet) is a game written in Rust that simulates Seattle traffic, letting players explore trade-offs between dedicating resources for pedestrians, bikes, cars, and buses. This talk will deep dive into the technical challenges of building a map model from OpenStreetMap and simulating thousands of agents faster than real-time, and explore ongoing work. Since there've been exciting developments in the Rust GUI ecosystem lately, we'll also take a close look at the GUI, 2D rendering, and data viz library that A/B Street uses.
Code of Conduct: Please review the Rust community's Code of Conduct (https://www.rust-lang.org/en-US/conduct.html) before coming to the meetup. Let's make this meetup great for everyone!
