Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Area Sea Kayaking Meetup Group!

When: Saturday, July 31,[masked]:45 AM

Where: Lincoln Park
8011 Fauntleroy Way SW
Seattle, WA 98136

HI! looking to see if anyone would be interested in paddling over to blake island on saturday for the day. the plan would be to leave from west seattle (lincoln park, 11am) and return back there. the tide will be about halfway out going there and we can start our return at slack (about 2:30)... it looks to be about 4 miles one way. we will leave at 11am SHARP! i will already be at the park for my sat morning boot camp - so ill be in the parking lot waiting at 10:45ish...
i will post my phone number the day before.

i would suggest bringing a little cooler for drinks and lunch, shoes to walk around in, the usual "day-in-the-sun" stuff. we will be on puget sound which means you should have experience paddling in the sound and whatever cold water gear/protection you would normally use.

also: i am NOT a tour guide, nor will i be checking you over to see if you are being safe or not, properly equipped or not, etc. i am NOT responsible for your safety, im just the host :)

i will add this though: 8 years ago, 3 friends and i, in CHEAP OCEAN KAYAK BRAND SIT ON TOPS did this relatively easily with NO KNOWLEDGE of tides or currents. we just went for it and had no problems (unless you count not pulling the kayaks high up enough out of the water, and the tide taking one kayak off the beach! LOL) it took about 1.5 hours each way.

the more the merrier!!
