Now that Washington's "Stay At Home" order is in full effect, I hope you can spend some time with us to solve tsumeshogi, learn basic tesuji, analyze positions, and play some Shogi!

Online Shogi Meetups like this take place on the Internet over 81dojo from 1PM-5PM on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.

If you would like to play with us online, please join us on the Pacific Northwest Shogi discord channel:

https://discord.gg/4z8cEhV

Feel free to join, even if you are not actually in the Greater Seattle Area or a regular member!

If you do not have an 81dojo account, you can sign up on their website:
https://system.81dojo.com/en/players/sign_up

Once you have made an account, you can play by going to the main 81dojo website (https://81dojo.com/en/) and clicking on the "Entrance" image.

Hope to see you guys soon! Stay safe.

Typical Meetup Schedule:
11AM-1PM: Assisting new discord users, help with 81Dojo account setup, and to answer any basic Shogi-related questions.

1-2PM: Tsumeshogi warmup problems are posted on discord.
(Twitch Livestream starts at 2PM)

2-2:30PM: Tsumeshogi solutions posted.

2:30-3PM: Non-tsumeshogi puzzles are shown such as hisshi/brinkmate, king escape, tesuji, and other "guess the next move" problems.

3-4PM: 1 hour in-depth lecture created by a strong 5-Dan amateur.

4-5PM: We match up players on discord and everyone plays rated games on 81dojo.

5pm-onward: Freestyle format. Players can do anything they want! Sometimes we play Shogi variants, do game analysis, talk about joseki, discuss book recommendations, etc. There is no set end time!
