Introducing MLflow with Matei Zaharia + AI Panel

Details

We are excited to announce that the next Seattle Spark+AI Meetup we will have Matei Zaharia speak about MLflow! We will also have a Q&A panel with Matei and Dr. Joseph Sirosh, CTO for Microsoft AI.

About the Speaker:
Matei Zaharia is an assistant professor of computer science at Stanford University and Chief Technologist at Databricks. He started the Spark project during his PhD at UC Berkeley in 2009. Before that, Matei worked broadly in datacenter systems, co-starting the Apache Mesos project and contributing as a committer on Apache Hadoop. Matei’s research was recognized through the 2014 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for the best PhD dissertation in computer science.

Title:
MLflow: An open platform to simplify the machine learning lifecycle

Abstract:
Successfully building and deploying a machine learning model can be difficult to do once. Enabling other data scientists (or yourself, one month later) to reproduce your pipeline, to compare the results of different versions, to track what's running where, and to redeploy and rollback updated models is much harder.

In this talk, I'll introduce MLflow, a new open source project from Databricks that simplifies this process. MLflow provides APIs for tracking experiment runs between multiple users within a reproducible environment, and for managing the deployment of models to production. Moreover, MLflow is designed to be an open, modular platform, in the sense that you can use it with any existing ML library and incorporate it incrementally into an existing ML development process.

Agenda:
6:00pm: Doors Open
6:30pm: Kick start our meetup
6:40pm: MLflow: An open platform to simplify the machine learning lifecycle
7:30pm: AI Panel with Matei Zaharia and Dr. Joseph Sirosh, CTO for Microsoft AI.

Location:
Bravern 2/12130-12148
We will have folks chaperoning you from the Bravern 2 lobby to the 12th floor for this session between 6pm-6:30pm. Thanks!

Parking Information:
Please note, we will not validate parking but retail stores within Bravern will validate if you shop there. Visitors should park on Parking Garage Level 3 (P3). The easiest way to get to Bravern-2 is to park in the “Emerald Parking” which is Green.
