Hidden Trails of north Kirkland

Today, we will explore some of the hidden trails through the Kirkland/Finn Hill area. We will start in the Juanita neighborhood, at the route 255 bus stop, and head west from there. We will venture up the hill, through an unmapped trail system, to NE 124th St., then continue west, reaching the O.O. Denny Park trail system. We will follow the trails down to the beach, eat lunch at the waterfront, then retrace our steps back.

Each way is about 4 miles, going up a few hundred feet and back down again, leading to an 8-mile round trip total.

We will meet at the northbound bus stop for route 255 at 98th Ave NE. and NE 116th St. From Seattle, you want the bus leaving the U-district at 9:25-9:30 (depending on which stop you use), arriving at 9:58. Feel free to take an earlier bus to buy food near the meetup point if you wish. I will be joining the bus at Kirkland Transit Center, and will not be riding from Seattle. There will be a planned restroom stop at Juanita Beach Park approximately 5 minutes into the walk.
