Our second ever meetup! Twitter is hosting us in their office located in Century Square near Westlake Center. Theme is Twitter and elections. Food and beverages generously provided by Twitter.

We meet only twelve days before election day on November 8. The US election in 2016, has been the Twitter election. Your organizers are fashioning a Twitter and election theme for our second meeting.

Talk: "Fun With Trump Tweets"

Joel will walk you through two fun projects I did with political tweets. One, a Twitter bot that retweeted "MAKE _ GREAT AGAIN" snowclones (and then got suspended); the other, a spinning globe that visualizes in real-time geotagged Tweets about "Trump" (or about whatever topic you like).

Avilay is a Big Data Engineer at INRIX. Previously he founded a startup applying ML to mobile app push notifications. For one customer he delivered 7x results. Pinterest acquired Avilay's customer. For Microsoft Azure, Avilay was part of the original team that created Azure.

Avilay will use PyAudio, Google ML, and Twitter Python to demonstrate speech-to-tweet.
