Get together and paint (Fridays - indoors - drop in anytime from 11 am-4 pm
Every Friday year-round, we meet indoors. You can arrive anytime between 11 AM and 4 PM and leave when you want. Bring your watercolor paints, brushes, paper, and a non-breakable water container. There are still life "ingredients" on our two shelves in the closet, and members are invited to set up a still life to paint. If you have additional items to contribute to the still life setup, such as flowers, fruits and veges, and so forth, please bring them. You're also welcome to bring reference photos and your own projects to work on. All members help one another with issues when asked, but there is no formal instructor. Loyal Heights Community Center will collect a $3 drop-in fee when you arrive ($2 for "seniors" over 50). Please check in at the front desk. We're upstairs in a spacious room with lots of windows. It's very nice! If you aren't sure what watercolor supplies to bring, please see my recommendation here: and here:

What we're about

If you're looking for a group of watercolor painters to join each week for painting as well as sharing ideas and critiques, you're in the right place! Fridays, indoors, we paint still life scenes, share reference photos, and/or work on our own independent projects. Thursdays we paint outdoors.

This group is open to watercolorists at all levels. It's not a class. To participate, you need to bring your own paints, brushes, paper, and water container. For a list of recommended materials, please see this discussion: . For links to useful information on watercolor painting, see Watercolor Resources (

We meet every Friday afternoon at the Loyal Heights Community Center in Ballard. They charge a $3 drop-in fee, which you pay when you check in at the front desk. We use watercolors only for this session.

Thursdays we meet outdoors, picking a different place to paint each week. During the winter months, many meetups will be indoors or under shelter. A particular Thursday meetup may be cancelled if we can't find an appropriate venue or not enough people sign up, so be sure to double check the meetup site for any updates beforehand. The outdoor meetups (only) are open to all types of media.
