March DocuTalk Meeting with Gabriel Miller and Patricia O'Brien

Next Monday come meet Miller and O'Brien, the partners in Seattle's
Kindred Media. Building on decades of experience in a variety of media, these Seattle filmmakers are the producers of the successful television show
Verve on the Seattle Channel, presenting short documentary portraits of local sculptors, dancers, painters, writers, and actors. The team is in development on a new short film investigating the creative process. O'Brien is a successful graphic designer in addition to being a multi-media producer and documentary filmmaker. Miller has spent years doing cinematography and sound recording on productions around the globe.

Yes, excellent work. Nice to see such a high level of craft put into such a format. Their work even translates well to the small screen on my computer desktop. Kudos to Miller and O'Brien!

We had a very informative and entertaining evening. We saw four of the Verve films with Q&A with Gabriel and Patricia between each one in a very casual environment. We learned a great deal of what it takes to put together a series such as Verve. (I would definitely recommend watching them on iTunes or YouTube) Each time I see an episode I have a greater appreciation for the skill and quality of their work. It was an exciting surprise to meet one of the artists who was featured in an episode.
