Jim Masters here.  Myself and fellow Ski Meetup Organizer - Kary York - have 12 campsites booked for Memorial Weekend down near Hood River, OR (hour east of Portland on Columbia River). Each campsite can hold 3 two-man tents or 1 large one.  Kary & I have both whitewater rafted rivers all over the northwest, and ran these trips for 10 years now.  Don't have any plans yet??  Well this may interest you!  How does 3 nights camping @ $7 per night and 2 days Whitewater Rafting some awesome rivers Jim & Kary did back in '09 with 35 other skiers?   Not to mention nightly parties around the campfire and group cookout dinners. Timberlake Campground - Kary will set you up in already booked sites!

Tent sites are 20x20 and can accommodate 2-3 tents, the rate is $21/day split between 2-3 campers.  We will pair you up with other campers!

Rafting rates to do both rivers is $155 w/tax ( Klickitat, White Salmon Rivers - 90% of members will do this)
Rafting rates if choosing just 1 river is $75 for Klickitat and $70 for White Salmon)

Itinerary

Join your fellow Trip Members by camp fire Friday night at Timberlake Campground.  It is about a 4-5 hour car ride from Seattle and is located scenically in the Columbia Gorge about 50 miles east of Portland I-5 area. Here is map of the area (campground is 2.7 miles nrth of Home Valley, WA). There are optional lodges/motels within 10-30 minutes from the campground (depending on your choice). See CarsonHotSpringResort.com for those that want a popular alternative to camping.

Saturday - After breakfast with fellow campers (bring your own food choices), 1st day raft trip starts at noon. Our rafting company (Wet Planet) will be guiding us down the White Salmon River for a nearly 4 hr ride with a free BBQ dinner at their facilities to follow.    There always is a 30-45 minute orientation by your river guides (wet suites, helmets, sweaters/booties, vests, rafts, professional guide & instruction all included). Off the river by 5pm.

Sunday - breakfast same.  Full day of Class III/IV rafting on the Klickitat River. Pull out spot on river, where full cookout lunch provided by Wet Planet. Dinner will be back at camp as group cookout.  We have Timberlake Hall, a spacious, partially enclosed hall with fireplace, tables, chairs, and a full kitchen reserved for Sunday after river ride.
