What we're about
Minute Movies is a group for film enthusiasts who want to make short films. Every month there is a new single-word theme and filmmakers make movies about a minute long inspired by the word. Everyone is invited to participate, no matter their equipment or experience level. We have a range of people from first time filmmakers filming on a phone to professionals filming on a high quality camera and everyone in between.
On the third Sunday of the month we have a virtual live screening with the filmmakers in attendance so anyone can come, watch, and ask the filmmakers questions or give feedback. Everyone is welcome to submit a short film or watch the screening!

Upcoming events (4+)
NO MEETING for this meetup! This is the deadline to turn in your clip - I'll email out the details and scripts to those who complete the sign up form
Here comes another Minute Movies FrankenFilm! In the spirit of coming together virtually and creating something awesome we're going to be making a minute movie together. (But apart, like responsible physical distancers.)
Sign up: https://minutemovies.com/frankenfilm-sign-up/
This film will be included in this month's YouTube playlist.
Please only RSVP to this event if you want to participate in making the film.
The details:
Step one: Sign up to participate by March 26 https://minutemovies.com/frankenfilm-sign-up/
Step two: I'll send out a scene from a script for you to film on March 27
Step three: Film your scene!
Step four: Send me the clip by April 9 via https://minutemovies.com/frankenfilm-submission/
Step five: Tune in to our live stream session for the premiere of our FrankenFilm! (Details can be found in the meetup event listing for this month's screening)
Submission specs:
- 23.9
- 1080p
- H.264 (.mp4 file type)
- No music added (I will add a soundtrack for the entire film to tie the clips together)
- Keep your audio as clean as possible and free from background noise. Make sure you are loud enough to be heard clearly
If you have questions about these specs let me know! Most editing platforms will have pre-sets you can use that follow these guidelines if you don't want to get into the details on your own. If you have a single take directly from your phone you can upload that to me as well and I should be able to work with the raw footage.

Some quick guidelines:
To submit: Send in your video file and YouTube link: https://minutemovies.com/film-submission/
-All movies should be roughly one minute long, no more than two minutes (plus 15 seconds of credits)
-Somewhere in the credits include the theme and the phrase "Made for Seattle Minute Movies"
-No copyrighted material (including music*)
-Keep everything respectful. This is a family friendly group!
-Deadline is the Saturday before the screening
-Movies will be screened on a first-come, first-serve basis. So send me the link as soon as you're done!
-Priority will be given to those who are present at the meeting, but if you finish a movie and can't make it, send me the link and I'll still screen it!
-In the interests of keeping the screening from going more than 2 hours, movies that follow all the guidelines have priority (on time and within the length limit). You are welcome to submit multiple films, but I might ask you to pick which one will be shown if there are a lot of submissions for the month.
-By submitting you're giving Minute Movies permission to use clips and images from your video for promotional purposes.
