*** NOTICE: Whilst we are under the "Stay at Home" mandate, no items on the calendar are happening. We'll update the info as more details become available regarding the lifting of the mandate. Stay safe.

If you're a mature but vibrant single adult and interested in boating and want to meet a great group of people, consider joining the Seattle Singles Yacht Club! We welcome all: experienced boat owners, both sail and power, people with boating experience but no boat, as well as those who may be new to boating. If you like to dance, that’s a plus because we also host a monthly dance on the second Monday of every month.

• SSYC is a non-profit boating club. We elect a slate of officers each year to serve on the board.

• SSYC meets each Monday, 7:30 pm except for announced holidays. We host a monthly dance on the second Monday.

• Club skippers provide their boats for day trips and monthly overnight Club outings. The club itself owns no boats or property.

• Club skippers announce boat trips at each meeting. Anyone present at the meeting may sign up for one or more boat trips.

• Casual members pay $10 per meeting ($15 on dance nights) which allows them to participate in that week's social events as well as a chance to sign up as crew on boats. Annual membership is $175 and includes access to all boating and social activities plus Monday night meetings and dances. Annual members also receive emailed newsletters with details about upcoming events and crew openings on Skippers' boats.

• Social events include Tuesday night volleyball, Happy Hours, and monthly outings, e.g. museum, casino, bowling, sporting events arranged by club members.

• We have a major fundraising event for Northwest Harvest, a statewide hunger relief agency we've supported for over twenty years.

• In addition to Skippers, there are a number of ways for people without boats to be involved in SSYC.

• Volunteer opportunities include staffing the front desk on Mondays, organizing social activities, helping with the Northwest Harvest fundraiser, and becoming a Board Member.

• For those new to sailing, we offer a yearly sailing class.

** On Hold due to Stay Home Mandate ** Pre-Meeting Happy Hour

Nickerson Street Saloon

****** Stay Home, Stay Healthy Mandate Update ***** Whilst we are still in a quarantine state, all regular SSYC meetings and Happy Hours have gone virtual. In person meetings and Happy Hours will resume when allowed by the Governor. Annual members are invited to join our SSYC members/past members FB page for the latest info. If you'd like to join SSYC as an Annual Member, please send a message via Meetup and someone will contact you as soon as we can. ***** Say Home, Say Healthy Mandate Update ****** Since our previous "pre-game" place abruptly closed, we're trying what used to be the "post-meeting" place, Nickerson Street Saloon. Back in the 70's or 80's it was the 318 Tavern and won some kind of mention in a Seattle Times non-franchise hamburger Olympics. I haven't had a burger there since back then but I'm guessing they still make good ones. And they have great sweet potato fries! Why change something that wins? Hope to see you there before the meeting at China Harbor!
