What we're about

# What is SecTalks Adelaide? SecTalks Adelaide is a non-profit session for technical security talks, and hands-on challenges. A forum to discuss technical (in)security stuff and share our thoughts. SecTalks Adelaide is held every month.

# What happens at a SecTalks Adelaide?

We have a monthly catch-up where someone presents on something interesting (sometimes VERY interesting!). We also have a monthly challenge that everyone gets their hands on. SecTalks Adelaide is community focused, open to beginners and experts alike, and vendor-pitch free. Those that are interested in learning infosec, hacking, computer security, and Capture the Flag challenges (and similar) are encouraged to attend.

# How SecTalks is organised?

It is 100% organic voluntary effort. Something that we feel we need to have. People in SecTalks are quite passionate and open for new ideas and discussion. We have people with different backgrounds.

# This is super cool, I wanna join SecTalks!

Sure! We always like to get more awesome people in.

# But I am new to security and want to learn, can I still join?

SecTalks is always open to anyone who is keen to learn infosec. Those that are interested in learning infosec, hacking, computer security, and Capture the Flag challenges (and similar) are encouraged to attend. We have a few places in each session for newcomers and we will team you up with others with more experience, so you can learn.

SecTalks Adelaide June - Hands on Hacking

Needs a location

After an extended break, SecTalks Adelaide is back, and even better we are going back to our roots by running a hands on hacking session.

We will be completing a vulnhub or HtB machine (yet to be decided)

The organisers will try to have USB's available to distribute.
If you could make sure you come prepared with a device with virtualisation capability (virtualbox/vmware/hyper-v) that would be appreciated. If you need a hand setting this up some of Adelaide's best and brightest will be on hand to help.

🍻 Food and drinks will be available at the venue.

😷 Please note we are following all SA government and venue COVID advice. If you can no longer attend the event, it would be appreciated if you could release your ticket so we can plan accordingly.

⭐ What do you need to bring?
There will be a workshop component to this meetup, so to do the workshop you will need a laptop with some battery power, and a hot-spot if you have access to one.
If you dont have access to a device, feel free to shoulder surf someone else and learn some new tricks while enjoying the range of food and drinks on offer!

⏰ Start Time
Doors open at 5:30PM, hacking will be happening until 7.30. Feel free to come for some or all.
