Details

It's only the second SecTalks of this year and we have an epic opportunity to tour the CyberGym ICS/SCADA training facilities, have a themed talk and CTF and prepare for utilising the facility for the part II event coming soon. If you're interested in the topic, keen to play RED vs BLUE at the facility in the future, please join this first one especially.

** KEY INFORMATION **

  1. We are holding this month's event at CYBERGYM - not the regular PwC location. Please ensure you have enough time to get to the new location (370 Docklands Drive).

  2. Spots are limited and vetted for this event. You will be checked for 'attending' at the door. If spaces allow by event start time, then it will be entry allowed on a first come-first served basis. Please be respectful of this and to our door-checkers. If you can't come (even up to the hour) please hit 'not attending' to pass on the spot to someone else.

  3. Strictly no entry before 5:30pm. Doors and registration will open at 5:45pm. Feel free to hang about outside until that time.

  4. You are entering in a live SCADA/ICS environment. Please be respectful of food and drinks in allocated areas as you would in a traditional security environment.

  5. Ensure laptops and devices are charged for the CTF. No guarentee enough power-points and boards are available for 70pax.

  • Agenda -
  • Tour: CyberGym training and CTF facilities
  • Talk: Introduction to SCADA/ICS - A security perspective
  • Capture-The-Flag: ICS-themed (Preperation for future facility use)
  • Food & Drinks -
Pizza, Beer, Wine, Soft-drinks and water. Some vegetarian options, but at this point plan ahead if you are gluten-free, vegan or lactose-intolerant.

  • After-Drinks -
Drinks will be provided at the CYBERGYM venue where this is taking place in Docklands. Feel free to stay after the event has finished.

  • Transport -
Easiest method is trams: There is a tram stop just out front.
There is parking available at the venue (in the building), and free for motorbikes outside the lobby. Depending on the time, maximum parking cost ranges between free-$15.

  • Sponsors -
Thanks to PwC (https://pwc.com.au) for their yearly, regular venue and catering. Privasec RED (https://privasec.com.au/services/red-team-attacks) for the prizes and CTF infrastructure costs. CyberSecPeople (https://www.cybersecpeople.com/) for the monthly hacking book prizes and CyberGym (https://www.cybergym.com/) for their incredible CTF Arena and catering.

We are always looking for new sponsors to cover some of our initiatives and keep events free while having great prizes. If you'd like to help sponsor an event or in general, please get in touch at melbourne@sectalks.org
