Faith, Doubt, and the Evolution of Being Human

Details

What can we understand Faith & Doubt to be in the human experience?

What roles does Faith play? How are language and symbolism used in systems of faith, and how are they used differently than in science and philosophy?

What roles does Doubt play, and how does it impact systems of faith? Does it destroy faith, or guide it to higher tiers in the evolution of being human?

SBS member Keith Johnsen will guide our exploration of the commonalities in scholarly works in sociology, psychology, complex-systems theory, evolutionary & sociobiology, comparative religion, and biblical research -- to mine that "precious mettle" that may allow us to move beyond divisions of thought between religiousness and secularism in our evolution of being, and becoming, human.
