What we’re about
The Secular Party of Australia is the first and only Australian political party whose chief objective is a liberal, secular democracy.
We promote true separation of church from state. We stand for freedom of and from religion, and we believe that government and politics should be free from religion.
We're a young party but growing, and have members in every state and territory. Our policies promote equality (e.g. women's and LGBTI rights), are based on reason and evidence and include a strong climate change policy.
The Secular Party was founded by secular humanists. We were registered just in time for the 2010 federal election, and fielded over 30 candidates across Australia with representation from every state and the ACT.
The Secular Party of Australia will be contesting the federal election in 2013. Even if you can't make it to a meetup, we'd really appreciate your help through volunteering and/or donations.
