PSA:šā¢ Volunteers are not required to stay the entire event. However the meeting from 12:30-1:00pm is mandatoryš
A local organization, She Dreams Bigger and the Birmingham Salvation Army will be having their 3rd Annual Guys & Galentines Day on Saturday February 9th, the ultimate self care experience for the female and male residents of the Birmingham Salvation Army.
āØWith free haircuts, manicures, facials, lunch, personal hygiene products, and even a dance, residents look forward to this day of appreciation! This year the record number will be 100 female and male residents!
šSchedule on day of event:
⢠12:30-1:00pm: Volunteer Meeting & Signin
[Lunch will be provided* All volunteers must attend this 30 min meeting]
⢠1:00pm-1:40pm: Event Set-up/Prep
⢠1:40 pm: Call for men/women
⢠1:40pm-2:00pm: Guest enter/ Sign in
⢠2:15pm-2:20pm: Welcome
⢠2:30pm-4:30pm: Event Activities begin
⢠4:30pm-5:15pm: Bag Distribution Event
Breakdown-Move into Cafe:
⢠5:00pm-6:30pm: Some volunteers will help with serving dinner and dinner time cleanup

āļøThere is a max of 4 volunteers per group so please update your RSVP asap if anything changes & you are unable to volunteer so that if anyone else would like to attend, they can do so.
What you will be assisting with as a volunteer:
šAssist with event setup/breakdown šMingle/Mix with guest
šPolish Nails
šApply Facials
šServe Food
šAssist with dinner time cleanup
š„There is a need for physical donations also of: toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, soap, socks, washcloths, pads, tampons, lotion, mouthwash. You can also give a much needed cash donation to help support the day to the organizer, She Dreams Bigger.
š„Also, we have been in communication with Salvation Army about certain requirements that we must meet for volunteers. ā> No children under the age of 13 will be allowed to volunteer at the event-anyone between the ages of 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the day of the event.
š„Per Salvation, anyone with a criminal history may need to go through a screening process with the Salvation Army. Reach out via messenger to discuss further.]
