What we’re about
"You render the priesthood superfluous if you can talk to God on your own."
- Michael Pollan
"All science is based upon reducing multiplicities into identities."
- Aldous Huxley
For me, the difference between spirituality and religion is the difference between the undefinable and the narrowly defined, between the Source of which all is manifest and making the mistake of specifying the unspecifiable and universal, usually with the aim of manipulating and controlling the minds of adherents, per the history of Empire. The non-dualist revelations of theosophy and the spiritual but not religious (SBNR) philosopher illuminate where spirituality and religion diverge, at the point of narrowing what constitutes divinity, enforcing the division of identity underlying every egotistic and tribalistic form of thought perpetuating evil. Every religion contains truth, that which is true of everyone and everything, and every religion contains propagandist, mind-controlling lies, that which in any way applies only to some specific, prejudicially-perceived and projected 'chosen people' and all 'others.' Pure spirituality is truth and unity, the sense and truth of the all-pervading Source. Religion is peering at these truths through artificially-fabricated, narrowing lenses, endorsing every false divide in identity underlying all evil.
